Now for the good bit. CRTL+Click the new layer thumbnail to reselect it, and with a big brush paint all of it white. If you don’t have white as your foreground color, press ‘D’ to reset colors, then ‘X’ to switch from black to white. That done, change the blend mode to Difference.
Step 6
Click the Layer 1 copy. Now with the hub cap still selected, CRTL+U to bring up the Hue/Saturation screen. We want to take off that blue from the hubcap, so lower the Saturation to -100.

Now select the tyre in the same way and don’t forget to CRTL+J to paste onto a new layer:

Now we ahve our first problem: If we color it the hub cap will change color. So, we need to delete the hub cap from the tyre layer. CRTL+Click on the hub cap layer to select it. Now make sure your hafge the tyre layer highlighted in blue. Now delete it: I have hidden the other layers so you can see clearly what you need to end up with:

CRTL+Click the tyre layer to select, then paint black. Chang ethe blend mode to Soft light. Then hightlight the Layer 1 copy and CRTL+u again and lower the Saturation to -100 like before:
