Step 10
Still with the rock layer highlighted, we need to add some shadows. Hit ‘B’ for the brush tool and right click anywhere on the screen. From the menu that pops up lower the hardness to 0%. This gives us a very soft brush. Now before you begin painting lower the opacity to something like 10%. Now starting at the bottom of the rock slowly begin painting and gradually build up the shadow.
Step 11
Highlight the beach layer and zoom in very close. What we need to do now is make the nearest edge a bit more irregular. Hit ‘S’ to activate the clone tool, and ALT click on some sand. Now carefully paint over the edge, making irregular movements.
Step 12
And here’s the finished result. Quite easy, quite fast and very effective.
