In this new tutorial, I’ll show you how to take your old, banged up car and turn it into a new, mean babe attracting machine using Photoshop.

Here’s what we’ll see at the end of this tutorial:

Introduction

Does your car look something like this? Old, dented, badly sprayed and basically faling apart? Well with the help of Photoshop CS2, there’s still life in the old girl yet. We are going to seperate this job into three amin areas: The wheels, the windows and lastly the body.

Step 1

It’s always a good idea to make a copy of the background image, so the first thing to do is drag the background in the layers panel onto the new layer icon:

Now we can focus on the wheels. Hit ‘Z’ to activate the zoom tool and get in close to the front wheel. First we will select the hub cap. Press ‘M’ for the Marquee tool. If you have the Marquee rectangle selected, hold the SHIFT key and press M again. Now roughly drag around the hub cap.

Step 3

Not very good, is it? Luckily, we can modify the selection. Go SELECT->TRANSFORM SELECTION. Now move the handlebars to get a good fit:

Better. Now press enter to exit transform mode, and CRTL+J to paste the selection onto a new layer. Double click this layer in the layers panel and rename.
