There comes a time when you might need to take a photograph of a hole on the beach, but ten to one you won’t find one when you need it. So for this reason I have decided to provide you with this quite simple tutorial.

Step 1

The first thing we need to do is select the Lasso tool ‘L’ and draw a rough hole. Make it as irregular as possible.

Step 2

Before we can modify the background layer, we need to unlock it. All you need do is double click the background layer and when the New Layer screen pops up, hit enter. The layer will now be unlocked and ready to change.

Step 3

This is a very simple step. Just hit delete to remove the selected sand.

Step 4

You now need to find another photograph of some rock. Try to find one that has a sheer side. Use the Lasso tool again to select a piece, then hit ‘V’ to activate the move tool and drag it onto your beach image.
